Although it’s only been open since March, the Commons at Imperial Hotel is already receiving impressive accolades. The supportive housing initiative, owned by Columbia Residential and National Church Residences, recently received Atlanta Regional Commission’s coveted 2014 Development of Excellence award.
The LEED Gold community provides 90 affordable housing apartments for the formerly homeless and those in need of special services.
The historic site was redeveloped through a public-private partnership between Columbia Residential, National Church Residences, DPCD, the Atlanta Housing Authority and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The Imperial was one of the top honorees at ARC’s Nov. 7 meeting.
