On a Friday in September, students preparing for their semester at The Art Institute of Atlanta were shocked to receive an email announcing the school’s closure.
In an abrupt surprise, the email stated that the closure was due to a series of events over the last decade, both external and internal. The Atlanta campus is just one of eight art institutes that closed, affecting thousands of students in Atlanta and beyond.
Students were left scrambling to make other educational arrangements. The school says it will mail students five official transcript copies for free as an effort to assist with transfers.
