The U.S. Census Bureau growth estimates reveal Atlanta as one of the biggest and fastest-growing metro areas in the U.S. Ranking No. 6 in the top ten, the metro Atlanta area’s flourishing with approximately 6.3 million people.
SmartAsset further assessed which Georgia counties have experienced the highest increase in wealth over the last decade. The county with the most growth was Forsyth County, having a median home value raw growth of $307,144. Following Forsyth, the top five counties were Oconee, Greene, Fulton and Cherokee.
The calculations were made using metrics from investment income, property value and median income.
