St. Paul United Methodist Church traces its roots back to Easter Sunday, April 21, 1867, when members from Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church South initiated a mission at an old army hospital on Fair Street for wounded Civil War veterans.
By 1870, a new church was established on Hunter Street, later relocating to Grant Park in 1906. The Neo-Romanesque stone church, completed in 1907, boasted intricate stained glass and a historic pipe organ. Despite challenges in the 20th century, including a fire in 1985, the resilient congregation has preserved the church’s rich history and remains an active community pillar in Southeast Atlanta.

I have lived in the Atlanta area all my life (born at Emory Hospital). I have never seen the Trolley Barn. It’s on my list.
