A grandmother’s touch is never forgotten

by

I always remember my grandmother making rice pudding when we were growing up, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. She left us without sharing her secret recipe, which is something I regret not getting. Needless to say, I’ve missed this connection to her.

Recently, I needed a little comfort food and stumbled upon some at Oakhurst Market. At first bite, the pudding immediately reminded me of hers. A combination of sweet and silky, complemented with raisins and a hint of fresh-ground cinnamon.

For a moment, all was right in the world, and I felt like she was here again.
