I’m not much of a dessert person, but downed every bite of the elderflower flan at the new Vin Vie Bistro, a perfect ending to our elegant meal at this French steakhouse.
Everything is homemade here, even the butter, and the quality shows in classic French dishes such as escargots in herb butter, pan-seared frog legs and beef bourguignon (pictured), made with beef cheeks marinated for two days and cooked for six hours.
My favorite was the pan-seared salmon served with a delicious mustard aioli. Derek Wood serves as the talented executive chef, with charming Laurend Abraham as the proprietor.
