Since 1992, GreenLaw has been providing local environmental organizations and community groups with legal expertise and technical assistance to help protect Georgia’s natural resources, ecosystems and communities from the impacts of waste and pollution.
The legal group recently welcomed a new executive director to their team – Melissa Allen Heath. The electric car-driving, vegan Atlanta native joins GreenLaw after 28 years as an enforcement attorney for EPA Region 4, specializing in groundwater, wetlands and Superfund. Heath replaces Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, who went to be Atlanta’s sustainability director.
On September 24, GreenLaw will celebrate local environmental heroes at its annual awards night.
