Arabia Mountain is 400 million years in the making

by The 100 Companies

Located just east of Atlanta off of I-20, Arabia Mountain is one of the more popular hiking spots for city-dwellers. With miles of trails and breathtaking views, the landmark has been around much longer than any current Atlantan – 400 million years actually.

Once part of a quarry, it’s now protected as part of the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve. Called a monadnock, the mountain has not always been as it appears today, but has formed after the ground around it has eroded away.
