Designed by Philip T. Shutze, Buckhead’s Swan House is recognized as the well-known architect’s finest residential work.
Built in 1928, the Swan House was home to Edward and Emily Inman – the family who helped rebuild Atlanta after the Civil War and heirs to a cotton brokerage fortune. The mansion’s design combines Renaissance Revival and Classical styles and features painted and sculpted swans throughout – a favorite of Mrs. Inman’s.
Fans of The Hunger Games series will recognize the Swan House as the set for President Snow’s mansion. Today, the house is operated as part of the Atlanta History Center.
