Though it has been less than two years since Disney first partnered with Netflix to exclusively stream its enormous vault of content, it looks like this relationship already has an expiration date.
On August 8, Disney announced that it would be removing all Disney/Pixar content and launching its own streaming platform in 2019, starting with the release of its highly anticipated blockbusters such as “Toy Story 4” and “Frozen 2.”
Though the loss of the Disney catalog will surely impact Netflix, its biggest concern should be whether or not this bold move will lead to other studios following suit.
