Since 2011, the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge (ABBC) has worked to place Atlanta as the nation’s leader in efficiency. With more than 114 million SF of commercial space committed to the project, ABBC has created 273 jobs and reduced energy consumption in the city by 17%.
The Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Resilience and its partners recently celebrated the initiative’s successes in 2016, honoring top performing participants. The buildings recognized for producing the highest levels of energy and water savings last year include Emory University, Georgia-Pacific Center and Fulton County Schools.
