My sweet mother’s been blessed with a long life, but she’s starting to show her age. She’ll turn 99 Halloween and there’s nothing physically ailing her – except all the nagging issues one accumulates over time.
Recently, her mind started playing tricks on her. She remembers names of her five children, old friends and long-ago stories, but wakes up wrestling with dreams merging into reality.
Lately, she’s convinced a party will start any minute – worrying where everyone will sit and how we’ll feed them. More than anything, she’s afraid she’ll miss it. She won’t. She’s still the life of the party.
Mrs. Schroder still is beautiful! gerald
i bet she remembers all the parties at the Schroder’s lake on Riverside Dr. on Sundays w/ the Leonards, Reeds, Merrills, and Logues
