Competing with the BMW 3-series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class, the IS retains Lexus’ trademark cushiness while providing some zing around the corners. Being a Toyota with nicer parts, the IS will also be as dependable as the family dog for decades to come.
All is not perfect, however. The modern Lexus is plagued by fussy infotainment systems and thirsty, aging engines; heavy-footed drivers will struggle to get 20+ MPG from the V6 IS. Still, the IS is a rock-solid sedan.
