After months of hospital after hospital, extreme health situations, hours of advocating and navigating the unknown, my mom passed this week.
We spent the night with her and had our last slumber party as a family. She was not alert, but we know she knew we were there and that she was surrounded with love. It was as peaceful as it could have been.
She got her promotion from years of suffering and departed when we left the room. We think she had to do that on her own. She is finally free, and for that, we are extremely grateful!
