Training

by Sally Schroder

Mark Twain wrote “Training is everything … a cauliflower is nothing but a cabbage with a college education.”

The best performers in every organization embrace training and ongoing education. We must manage our own careers, and learning is a requirement for career progress.

A lady I know quite well has re-entered the work force after 26 years. She is stymied by the changes wrought by the computer and by her inadequate skills.

Thankfully, the Internet is democratic and a great equalizer. Training courses abound and the range of topics is encyclopedic. Shame on us if we don’t move from cabbage to cauliflower.
