Flowing 430 miles from Jacks Knob in northeast Georgia to the Apalachicola Bay in Florida, the ‘Hooch offers a plethora of fun. Two new NOC adventure centers on federal parkland will serve the 6.5-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee from Johnson’s Ferry to Paces Mill.
Having explored the 3.5-mile area between Palisades and Paces Mill, my favorite activity has been cliff diving off The Big Rock. The menacing cliff gently rests while brave souls climb its back and plummet about 20 feet. Bystanders across the river cheer and occasionally close their eyes in fear.
