Big changes are ahead for Bobby Jones Golf Course. The 94-year-old course named after one of Atlanta’s most famous athletes has closed for renovation, and is scheduled to reopen in fall 2018.
Phase one of the $23 million project includes a reversible nine-hole golf course. (How does that work?) Other improvements include a new clubhouse, indoor instruction building and short game practice area.
A parking deck is in the works for the course and the adjacent Bitsy Grant Tennis Center. The tennis complex is being improved as well, with several courts in the flood plain being relocated.
