What’s a supertaster?

by The 100 Companies

Supertaster: Not an epicure in a brightly colored cape, like the name suggests, but someone who tastes certain flavors and food stronger than others.

On top of your tastebuds, there are taste receptors that tell your brain what you’re eating. Supertasters have more taste buds, and therefore more taste receptors, which makes them particularly sensitive to bitter flavors in foods like broccoli, coffee and chocolate (for me, it’s cilantro — tastes like I’m eating a bar of soap),

It’s a little-known fact, but one-fourth of the population are supertasters. You can take this test to find out if you’re one, too.
