For the past five years, ATL Collective has been handpicking classic albums and gathering talented local and national musicians to collectively recreate records from start to finish.
Since 2009, the Collective has delighted audiences with covers of past greats including Abbey Road, Pet Sounds and Thriller. On Saturday, July 25, they’ll present their 50th show: Paul Simon’s epic Graceland at Terminal West.
Released in 1986 and famously featuring the sounds of South Africa, Graceland salvaged Simon’s downward sliding career. It became his top-selling solo album, winning the Album-of-the-Year Grammy and providing so many of us a soundtrack for our lives.
