LakePoint, the world class sports complex being constructed alongside I-75 near Lake Allatoona in Bartow County, remains on track to be completed in 2018.
Currently 250 of the 1,300 acres have been developed, including eight baseball fields, 10 sand volleyball courts, three mix-use fields and a wakeboarding water park. The 170,000-square-foot indoor facility for basketball and other sports is opening in May 2016.
Once the LakePoint campus is finished, it can host 40 different sports. It will also be home to 20 hotels and 50 restaurants. More than six million people are expected to visit LakePoint each year when completed.
