After a year of restaurants relying on take-out orders to keep business afloat, the state Senate recently passed SB 236, a bill allowing restaurants to continue legally selling to-go cocktails.
The bill now awaits the House of Representatives, but if passed then signed into law by the governor, restaurants would be able to sell up to two cocktails per takeout entrée ordered. Cocktails would be served in approved sealed containers and required to be transported in the car’s glove box, locked trunk or backseat upon pickup.
If passed, the bill would greatly support the restaurant industry amidst the ongoing pandemic.
