The Atlanta Legacy Makers initiative was created to pay tribute to Atlanta Mayors Ivan Allen Jr. and Maynard Jackson for how they shaped our city. Inspired by the novel “Where Peachtree Meets Sweet Auburn,” written by Gary M. Pomerantz, the group is working to finalize a public art piece to commemorate these legacy makers.
They’ve also recently launched “Atlanta Legacy Makers: The Podcast,” which reads through the book while also talking through big-picture questions, helping listeners to better understand both iconic mayors and the Atlanta of today.
The eight-episode series is available now on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify and Stitcher.
