Boost the holiday spirit by lending a helping hand

‘Tis the season of giving back. Here are some local causes to get involved in:

• Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program – Angel cards are displayed in malls and shopping centers, sharing the wishes of local children in need. Help by purchasing an item on the list or volunteering for the cause.
• Wreaths Across America – Sponsor a wreath or volunteer at the Georgia National Cemetery to honor the fallen on Dec. 14.
• Hands on Atlanta – This nonprofit offers vast opportunities to help year-round, with activities ranging from outdoor cleanups to feeding the homeless.
