Alongside Rhode Island’s Downtown Warren, California’s Downtown Santa Ana, Kentucky’s Old Louisville and New Mexico’s Nob Hill, Midtown is one of five 2016 Great Neighborhoods in America, as named by the American Planning Association.
APA cited the Atlanta BeltLine, grid street network, diverse range of building uses, variety of events, Piedmont Park, and strong art, technology and health care scenes, which have created “the preeminent urban neighborhood in Atlanta.”
The accolade focused on the area’s planning excellence that stems from nearly $5 billion in private investment since 2000, Midtown Alliance, anchor institutions like Georgia Tech and Midtown’s four MARTA stations.
