Guiding principles

by The 100 Companies

There are no emotionally neutral parental decisions. Having four children, I can say this with certainty.

As parents, we’re called upon to guide our children and keep them from falling into travail. My approach has been to share with my kids (who are mostly grown) my relationship with everything from drugs and money to sex, religion and other people – intentional conversations that have proven powerful when faced with pressure situations.

Modeling my own guiding principles encourages others to develop their own deep relationships (which will undoubtedly differ from mine, and that’s ok). It’s about taking a stand, not avoiding challenge.
