The day-tripper’s guide to Georgia

Sometimes it’s nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, and a quick day trip might just do the trick. Lucky for us, Atlanta is only a few hours away from the best sights Georgia has to offer.

For the outdoor adventurer? Explore Georgia’s “Little Grand Canyon” at Providence Canyon State Park, or head to the 186-foot-tall Toccoa Falls. If you enjoy mysteries, check out the Georgia Guidestones, a Stonehenge-like monument in Elberton.

In Helen, find a piece of Germany, and round out the day with an afternoon of tubing down the Chattahoochee.
