Transit-oriented developments (TODs) are good for the economy, traffic and perhaps, even waistlines. Across the country, the growing number of TODs has spurred projects in markets of all sizes. According to a recent New York Times article, “Office buildings with access to transit are outshining those without.”
In the Atlanta metro region, developments near transit – such as Doraville’s Assembly, which just landed Serta Simmons Bedding LLC’s corporate and brand headquarters – are attracting tenants, as more employees prefer to walk or take MARTA.
As developers create mixed-use environments surrounding transit in Atlanta, more corporate relocations could be in store.
