As I was growing up in a (read: very) small town in Alabama, the term “wellness” wasn’t used. We didn’t hear about walkability or connecting to your environment, and our local hospital wasn’t focused on being a part of our community.
That’s changing, though, as the role of health care facilities is evolving. Developers, according to a recent piece in Commercial Property Executive, are finding more opportunities to design and develop health care properties, incorporating three trends: stronger connections, walkability and increased areas of respite.
Health care developments are now focused on the next generation of employees, visitors and patients.
