You probably read the recent New York Times piece about Atlanta’s “glorified sidewalk.” The article praised the BeltLine for its impact on our city, but don’t think that’s gone to the organization’s head.
Last week, it was announced that Invest Atlanta – an economic development agency – met with city officials to discuss affordable housing along the BeltLine. Officials at the meeting discussed raising $7.5 million to make affordability a priority as the BeltLine grows.
As Atlanta grows, affordable housing has been a topic garnering more and more attention. Encouraging affordability on the BeltLine is key to continuing our growth trajectory.
