Popular travel website Lonely Planet recently named Atlanta No. 4 on its international list of 10 Best Cities to Visit in 2022.
The site said that Atlanta was a “thriving, shining cultural jewel in the heart of the American South with passion and activism in its soul” and noted the city’s importance as a major battleground state during the 2020 presidential election.
Atlanta is a city widely known for its rich history and its current role as a cultural influencer in sectors like food, music and entertainment.
Other cities on the list include Lagos, Nigeria and Gyeongju, South Korea.
