The College Football Playoff announced Miami and Atlanta will be the final locations for the National Championship games from its initial 12-year contract. Crediting a state-of-the-art stadium and walkable downtown venues to host weekend activities, Atlanta was selected for the 2025 College Football Playoff Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Initially scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, the 2025 game was moved to Atlanta when the CFP couldn’t reach an agreement with the city. Atlanta and Miami are the only cities to host multiple national title games.
City officials expect the college football championship game will significantly boost the economy.
