Lawnstarter recently ranked Atlanta the No. 3 best city for urban gardening.
The practice of finding innovative ways to grow plants in the city has grown in popularity over the last few years, and Atlanta has been no exception to the trend. Examples of the practice include parking lots converted to veggie plots, rooftop container gardens and vertical plant walls.
With its ideal climate, Atlanta was highlighted for top access to private and public gardening spaces and well-established gardening communities. Atlanta also maintains the nation’s largest free-food forest, which was built in 2021 to address the population’s food insecurity problem.
