UGA receives record number of applications for Class of 2029

​The University of Georgia (UGA) has set a new application record, receiving nearly 48,000 applications for the Class of 2029 – an increase of nearly 5,000 applications from the previous year. Ultimately, 15,800 applicants were accepted, resulting in a competitive acceptance rate of 33%.

In-state and out-of-state applications increased evenly, with all 50 states and Washington, D.C., represented. Admitted students from Georgia represent 154 of the state’s 159 counties – six more than last year. Academically, the average GPA reported is 4.08-4.35, and SAT scores are 1300-1470.

Beyond academics, the admitted class includes over 16,500 volunteer roles and 23,000 leadership positions.
