In 1913, 13-year-old Mary Phagan was raped and murdered at the National Pencil Company in Atlanta where she worked.
Leo Frank, a Jewish man who was her superintendent, was convicted in a controversial trial and sentenced to life in prison. Twenty-five men from Marietta dragged him from his cell and hanged him.
The 2023 Broadway musical based on the true story won three Tony Awards. The book is by Tony Award winner Alfred Uhry and the music and lyrics are by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown.
The national tour of “Parade” is coming to the Fox Theatre April 1-6.
