With all the crazy airline news lately, I’m giving a shoutout to Delta Airlines and its accessibility services for travelers. Seven weeks after breaking both ankles, I traveled cross-country for business.
The anxiety I had contemplating going alone in two boots with crutches or a cane was intense. Upon arrival, I saw what I normally wouldn’t: an accessibility phone, pronounced signage and a dedicated entrance like a beacon. From curb to gate, my anxiety dissipated. Each wheelchair service team member was spectacular.
Doing the thing I love most, like this, returned my independence and was a gift to my soul.
