MARTA breaks ground on first new transit line in 20 years

by The 100 Companies

Atlanta traffic will soon become a little less hectic. Earlier this month, MARTA began construction on its first new transit line in over 20 years.

The Summerhill bus rapid transit line is the first line to break ground as part of MARTA’s $2.7 billion expansion plan and it will also be the region’s first bus rapid transit line.

The line will stretch 2.4 miles from Five Points south to Carver, serving Georgia State University, the Georgia Capitol, Atlanta City Hall and more.

Similar rapid bus lines are planned to run in Clayton County, Fulton County, Gwinnett County and other areas.
