Late last year, Centennial Yards officially celebrated the topping out (placing a structure’s final beam) of its first hotel. The celebration included honoring the construction workers, contractors and others who helped build the hotel and unveiling its name: Hotel Phoenix. The name comes from the mythical phoenix bird, which has long represented the city’s history of rising from the ashes.
Hotel Phoenix is expected to open this summer. It will feature 292 guest rooms, including 15 suites and penthouses. The hotel will also have a full-service restaurant, a bar open all day and a rooftop restaurant with a private entrance.
