As The Atlanta 100 takes a holiday next week, we’ll reflect not only on the events of 238 years ago, but also upon July 4, 1826, when both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died. The two had severed their remarkable friendship over partisan politics only to reconnect with great fondness in later years.
Similarly, having once worshipped Mr. Jefferson as a UVA student – only later to lose affection when reading of his maddening contradictions – I now spend hours listening to his words through a remarkable weekly podcast named The Thomas Jefferson Hour.
Listen in – and learn a lot about America.
