Cinemex Opens First Theater in U.S.

Sources say Mexico City-based Cinemex’s first U.S. theater at Miami’s Brickell City Centre – named CMX – will open tomorrow. The long-awaited theater is part of the world’s sixth-largest theater chain, and offers 11 viewing rooms for Brickell visitors.

Currently, downtown Miami has few options for moviegoers, much like the site for the U.S.’s second CMX location, opening in 2018: HALCYON in Forsyth County, Georgia. HALCYON’s CMX will mark Forsyth’s first dine-in theater and have 10 screens, 500 recliners and full-service in-seat dining.

Where will we see the next CMX? Time will tell.
