The Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center has been a staple in Atlanta for nearly 50 years. When Texas developer Weingarten Realty shared plans of a mixed-use redevelopment, the site seemed to be getting a new life.
Last week however, Weingarten sent a release citing an “impasse” that was reached with the city of Atlanta, which halted any further pursuit of the deal.
Everyone is scratching their heads, and the area may have missed its chance at another grocery store. With all the activity in Old Fourth Ward, Downtown and Midtown, will another developer step up and take the chance?
