Last week, Columbia Ventures announced it will expand the Studioplex development on Old Fourth Ward’s Auburn Avenue with 19 three-story townhomes, along with retail and restaurant space.
Originally intended for mixed-income rental housing and work spaces after the 1996 Olympics, Studioplex’s construction was stalled. Columbia and Studioplex’s announcement comes following news of permits being filed for the construction of a seven-story, 140-room boutique hotel on the site. A third phase promising condos was also announced.
The site is adjacent to the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail and will offer visitors and residents a place to work/live/stay.
