This week, the team behind the 525 North office building began demolishing the site. Thirty-four blighted and vacant apartment units were demolished, along with two desolate homes just down the street from Ponce City Market.
Demolition is not always a popular topic – as some cities have a habit of replacing buildings far too soon, but this loft office building is replacing a 1960s building that had been badly burned by a fire and had since been riddled with crime.
Demolition makes way for tenants to work in offices with 360-degree views, instead of driving by an overgrown site.
