In one of the largest investments in Griffin, Georgia’s history, Kajima Building Design Group (KBD) is building a new plant for TOPPAN Printing in the city’s Lakes at Green Valley. The 127,000-square-foot plant will be the company’s first transparent barrier film manufacturing site outside of Japan.
Spalding County and KBD representatives welcomed TOPPAN at a traditional Japanese groundbreaking ceremony Monday, which included a sake cask breaking, or “Kagami Biraki” which translates to “Opening the Mirror” in Japanese.
TOPPAN’s plant brings 80 jobs and another layer to its partnership with KBD – the companies have been doing business together for 30 years.
