On April 30, Gov. Kemp signed an executive order lifting the shelter-at-home order, which includes all of Georgia residents except elderly and medically fragile individuals. Kemp cited the need to restart the state’s devastated economy as a primary reason for lifting the order.
Some businesses, including movie theaters, beauty salons and restaurants, have been given the green light to reopen. While a lot of these businesses have chosen to open, many have opted to wait in order to spend more time putting in adequate safety measures for employees and patrons.
Businesses like bars, nightclubs and live performance venues remain closed.
