I gave up coffee a year and a half ago. The caffeine struggle was real. I got to the other side realizing I missed the ritual. The quiet time in the morning, the warmth of the glass in my hands, the comfort before the day gets started.
Growing up my mother would ask, “Do you want something hot to drink?” It was our time for connection. Sometimes we had tea, but usually International Coffee, like that commercial that always ran. She still asks when I visit, but I found a sugar-free, caffeine-free version.
Looks like traditions live on.
