Sandy Springs has launched a Safety Action Plan to address the city’s high crash rates, which include more than 50 fatal crashes and 200 serious injuries in the past five years.
The plan aims to reduce fatal and severe crashes by identifying high-crash areas such as SR 400, I-285 and Roswell Road. Public input was gathered through meetings and an interactive map, helping pinpoint 266 safety concerns.
The Safety Action Plan builds on the city’s 2021 Transportation Master Plan, prioritizing a safe and connected transportation network. It also opens the door for potential federal grants to fund future safety improvements.
