Inside Morningside Kitchen – Part 2

by

Before returning to the upcoming opening of Morningside Kitchen, we’re looking back on Tom Murphy’s original restaurant – Murphy’s.

Murphy’s was first conceived in a management class at GSU when Tom chose a project on opening a neighborhood deli. Encouraged by his professor, Tom made the project a reality and officially opened Murphy’s in Virginia-Highland in 1980.

Over the next few decades, the deli evolved into a sophisticated restaurant, eventually moving a few blocks away to its present location. Today one of Atlanta’s most beloved restaurants, Murphy’s restaurant is known for its renowned wine shop, weekend brunches and warm hospitality.
