Founded as the Boston Red Stockings in 1871, the Braves are the oldest continuously operating professional sports franchise in America. After 82 years in Boston, the Braves moved to Milwaukee. Their tenure in Milwaukee was the ultimate rags to riches story in MLB history. However, fan support dropped when the Braves lost the World Series in 1958.
The Braves moved to Atlanta in 1966 and were welcomed to their new home, Atlanta Stadium. Since the beginning, the Braves have won three World Series and recently clinched their 21st division title, making it their fourth straight and the most in MLB history.
