A century of soaring at Hartsfield-Jackson

by katem

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport marked its 100th anniversary this week, commemorating a century of aviation excellence and global connectivity. Once a small airfield in 1925, the airport has evolved into the world’s busiest hub, serving over 100 million passengers annually.

City officials, aviation leaders and community members gathered for a celebratory event featuring historical exhibits, aircraft displays and tributes to the airport’s role in shaping Atlanta’s growth. Mayor Andre Dickens was joined by former Atlanta mayors Bill Campbell, Kasim Reed, Keisha Lance Bottoms and Shirley Franklin.

The airport continues to evolve, with plans for expanded terminals and enhanced sustainability efforts.
