Places in Peril

by admin

Yesterday, 10 struggling Georgia historic sites were named to The Georgia Trust’s “Places in Peri”’ in hopes of revitalization. This marks the 10th year of the program, which identifies buildings, structures, landscapes and other landmarks threatened by demolition, poor public policy and other methods of negligence.

This year’s list included Ware’s Folly in Augusta, Dart House in Brunswick and East Point’s Historic Civic Block. For the full list, click here.

The list aims to encourage the community to employ preservation tactics, financial resources and partnerships. Previous recipients have gone on to receive as much as $25,000 in grants for restoration.
